Berrettini Suffers an Injury at Monte Carlo Masters

Matteo Berrettini’s withdrawal from the Monte Carlo Masters due to an abdominal injury has left tennis fans disappointed. The Italian world No 22 was finally finding his level and getting back to where he wanted to be before being hit with another setback.

His withdrawal has given sixth seed Holger Rune a walkover to the quarter-finals of the tournament. It remains to be seen how Berrettini’s injury will affect his participation in future tournaments.

Berrettini’s tough start to 2024 has been due to a series of niggling injuries, which he has struggled to overcome.
