Bianca Andreescu, the former US Open champion, has suffered a setback after confirming that she has torn two ligaments in her left ankle. The Canadian was forced to withdraw from her fourth-round match against Ekaterina Alexandrova on Monday night after falling during the third game of the second set.
Andreescu was in visible pain and was wheeled off the court in a wheelchair, leaving fans and supporters concerned about the extent of her injury.
