Challenging but Successful Start for Djokovic in Paris

Novak Djokovic defeated French-American tennis player Maxime Cressy in the second round of the Masters in Paris. Djokovic bettered his rival in two sets – 7:6, 6:4 after more than an hour and a half of play.

Cressy played really well. He was making risky yet effective moves throughout the game, and his serves were really good, so it took Djokovic quite a bit of time and energy to finally get to the breakpoint, which he did in the second set for the first time in the game.

Novak was excellent, but he took his time before he finally got into his grove and found a way to beat his opponent. In his serve games, Djokovic was extremely dominant. “Here in Bercy, I’ve had a lot of success in my early career, and the court feels much faster compared to previous years. It was a hard game, but it was a great challenge. I played hard, and when I got my chances, I took advantage,” Djokovic stated after the game.
