Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev advanced to the second round of the tournament in Adelaide after Lorenzo Sonego withdrew from the match due to an injury at the beginning of the second set.

The first set brought tons of intense points and battle. It was the set in which Medvedev managed to defend and save nine set points, after which he won in tie break by 8:6.

At the start of the second set, players exchanged breaks, and Medvedev gained a 2:1 lead before Sonego decided to withdraw from the match.

In the next round, Daniil awaits Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic.
