Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalnka started off the WTA finals at Fort Worth successfully after she managed to beat Ons Jabeur in three sets, 3:6, 7:6, and 7:5. The match was an hour and twenty-eight minutes long, and although Jabeur started strongly, Sabalenka outlasted her.

Greek tennis player Maria Sakkari also had a successful start to the tournament. She defeated American player Jessica Pegula in two sets, 7:6, 7:6. The match was two hours and eleven minutes long.

Although it was an intense battle between the two players, Sakkari managed to overcome the pressure and ended up with the win.
