Venus Williams Withdraws From Australian Open

American tennis player Venus Williams withdrew from the first grand slam of the year, the Australian Open, due to an injury.

Seven-time grand slam champion suffered the injury at the tournament in Auckland; however, there is no official news about the nature of her injury.

Williams received a special wildcard entry from organizers to participate at Australian Open, and it was supposed to be the 22nd participation of her career. The tournament in Melbourne kicks off on January 16th.
