The first round of the ATP 500 Dubai certainly brought a lot of excitement. Alexander Zverev, Tallon Griekspoor, Lorenzo Sonego, Pavel Kotov, and Thanasi Kokkinakis managed to win and advance.
Zverev slowly but surely starts to come back to the form he was in a year ago. Although he is still not the player he used to be, he is grinding and working his way back to the tennis elite. He defeated Jiri Lehecka in three sets, 4:6, 6:3, and 6:4, and earned his right to compete in the next round.
Tallon Griekspoor also won his first-round match in three sets against Constant Lestienne (6:4, 3:6, and 6:2), and he will play against Pavel Kotov in the next round.
